For over 185 years, Tiffany & Co. has embodied craftsmanship and elegance. With around 40 engravers worldwide, it remains one of the few luxury houses with deep expertise in hand engraving.
At VivaTech 2025, Europe’s largest startup and tech event, Tiffany showcased its artistry in trophy creation and hand engraving. However, the brand faced a unique challenge: how to highlight innovation in a craft that is inherently manual.
Partnering with frog, Tiffany co-created an AI-powered tool that honored tradition while embracing technology.
The project drew upon Tiffany's extensive archives and involved close collaboration with the engravers to effectively train the generative AI model. Training material included hand-drawn alphabets inspired by iconic Tiffany designs. A primary challenge was ensuring compliance with archival guidelines to maintain the authenticity of the monograms, reflecting Tiffany’s craftsmanship and brand essence. After testing several models, a solution was found that translated briefs into consistent, stylish monograms.
The resulting tool was presented at Tiffany’s booth at VivaTech. By entering their initials and design preferences, users generated a unique monogram. Shortly after the experience, each participant received their custom monogram via email, bringing craftsmanship and innovation directly to their inbox.
Over four days at VivaTech, more than 500 visitors generated over 700 monograms.

AI-powered elegance
frog collaborated with engravers to train a Gen AI model using Tiffany’s archives and guidelines. The result was a tool that generated bespoke monograms, co-created with the artisans themselves.
Personalized engagement
Over 500 visitors created more than 700 unique monograms using the AI tool. The designs were sent to participants via email, resulting in high open and retention rates, indicating a strong level of engagement and connection with the brand.
