XCMR presented frog with powerful UV-C technology for pathogen inactivation. The challenge was to make it easily usable and fit modern expectations of technology in stressful, highly contaminated environments.

Innovating UV-C Solutions

The modular system features a transparent facial mask that enables clearer communication, interchangeable UV-C reactor pods that target specific pathogens and a hot-swappable battery that enables uninterrupted wear.

frog and XCMR developed an innovative new class of UV-C enabled respiratory protection devices that readily inactivates​ pathogens, enabling ​​​individuals​​​ to work​ safely​ in high-risk bioaerosol environments.

Odeabank wanted a mobile app that incentivized user engagement and met new customer behaviors. But the app needed to avoid negatively impacting accessibility and seamlessness. The app also needed to serve designers and act as a guide to developers and brand managers. The challenge was to integrate multiple features (banking, wealth, investments, loyalty) in one super-app.

Incentivizing simplicity

Regular, collaborative validation sessions with prospects and clients prioritized customer needs. An atomic and modular approach ensures scalability and flexibility. A scalable DLS for the future. A pre-login engagement feature enables user interaction without signing up. Seamless onboarding and access to jargon-free info enhance user experiences. 

Setting the right balance

We created the Odea App with scalable components that are compatible with the React Native framework–making a consistent experience across touchpoints. Its minimalistic aesthetic, in the brand’s palette, is alluring and developmentally effortless. This is paired with a dark mode. This super-app puts the customer first and responds to emerging banking habits.

The goal of this collaboration was to assemble a multi-disciplinary team and work with partners (Capgemini Engineering and various local tradespeople) to design and deliver a cooling system that does not need power.

Methodology in the making

We updated the “Zeer Pot” technique (clay pot evaporation) with an underground thermal section, an above-ground system that promotes air flow and a swatch of solar cloth for more cooling applications.

Low-tech and modular

The cooler was successfully tested with locals in a Moroccan village, leading to a better understanding of the real needs of targeted populations and inspiration that feeds our ambition.

Mammoth sought to create CRISPR-powered diagnostic devices with the versatility to detect multiple pathogens at once, while remaining low-cost, simple and portable for use in homes and at the Point-of-Care (POC).  This meant translating foundational scientific discoveries into a wide range of beautifully crafted, trusted and accessible products with unique solutions for integrating technical elements.

Translating innovation 

frog helped Mammoth conduct multiple rounds of user research to discover patient and practitioner needs. Prototype devices were built around how real people use diagnostics and POC workflows. This data informed everything from devices’ workflows, physical and digital features, engineering architecture, to formal expression of brand identity.

By setting a clear direction for teams to follow, frog helped enable Mammoth’s vision to democratize lab-quality diagnostics. Together, we defined a set of north star products and brand strategy in the healthcare space, making its  ambition clear for both the product teams and potential partners.
