frog Announces Multiple Finalists for the Fast Company 2016 Innovation by Design Awards

Finalists and Honorable Mention awards went to Voyomotive, Sensel, GuideWell, GSMA, UNICEF and frog.

SAN FRANCISCO — The winners of Fast Company’s prestigious Innovation by Design Awards were announced today, live on FastCoDesign.com.

Several frog projects received distinctions: finalists include frogVentures™ clients Sensel, and Voyomotive, as well as frog concept work Yibu and the Naloxone Nasal Atomizer. frog clients GuideWell, GSMA and frog partner UNICEF all received honorable mentions.

Sensel Morph is a finalist in the Product category. The Sensel Morph is a next-generation input device that allows creators and innovators to explore endless possibilities in music, art, gaming and beyond. Voyomotive is also a finalist in the product category for VOYO, an insightful and powerful connected car platform for the aftermarket ecosystem. Both Sensel and Voyomotive are frogVentures portfolio clients.

In the Experimental category, frog Yibu is a finalist. Yibu is an education play ecosystem that combines the digital and physical world; using digital screen and sensor technology to create a multi-dimensional adventure activity versus a passive viewing experience. frog’s Naloxone Nasal Atomizer concept is also a finalist in the Experimental category. This concept work reimagines the delivery mechanism for Naloxone, which reverses the effects of a heroin overdose, to better meet the needs of first responders and the people whose lives they are attempting to save.

frog client GuideWell received an honorable mention in the Spaces, Places, and Cities category for the GuideWell Innovation CoRE (Collaborative Resource Ecosystem), an incubator and co-working space in Florida. In the Social Good category, frog client GSMA received honorable mention for the mAgri Design Toolkit and frog partner UNICEF received honorable mention for the Wearables for Good Challenge. The mAgri Design Toolkit is an instructional guide to designing mobile agriculture services, and the Wearables for Good Challenge was a partnership between UNICEF, frog, and ARM that asked participants to generate ideas for low cost wearables to improve the lives of mothers and children living in developing economies.

All of the finalists are highlighted in the October issue of the print magazine, which hits newsstands on Sept. 20. The Innovation by Design Awards program, now in its fifth year, honors the most innovative and disruptive design solutions to today’s business problems. This year’s judging panel, which was once again comprised of the world’s best design minds, selected the finalists from more than 1,700 international submissions across 11 categories—the most ever.
